Basic

The ISTP is the typical mechanic/craftsman, they tend to have an adventuresome spirit, love to take risks like skydiving, surfing, motorcycles, they are fearless people. Many of ISTPs tend to “make” their own rules and live by how they like it, they don’t follow something they aren’t comfy with, they need to live like they want. They are also excellent task completers, they do the task perfectly, but also in the easiest way, not tend to be very advanced, they do things the simple and easy way. They can be rather unemotional from time to time since few of ISTPs don’t like attention, but they appreciate attention from their closest of friends.


What does ISTP stand for?

The (I) stands for Introverted : Which means that the person are a quiet and private person, they like to keep things to themselves, which not always are a good thing. They don’t have the need of being social, and tend to have fewer but closer friends and always thinks before they speak.

The (S) stands for Sensing : Which means that the person are a very realistic and aware person, they don’t often go into “dreamland” or think much of the time except the present time.

The (T) stands for Thinking : Which explains itself pretty much, a thinking person would be more logical, objective and critical. They always wants the cold hard truth instead of a lie, even though the lie is for the best for them. They are driven by thought and always thinks rationally.

The (P) stands for Perceiving : Which means the person is a relaxed and flexible. They dislikes routine and prefer things goes after their tempo and not anyone else. They can act very randomly if they are bored and spontaneously.


Strengths with being ISTP

*Not threatened by conflict or criticism
*Likely to respect other’s need for space


Weaknesses

*Not naturally good at expressing feelings and emotions
*Not tuned in to what others are feeling
*Tendency to be overly private and hold back parts of themselves

ISTP as friends

ISTPs have a very childlike approach to life and other people. They are friendly and tend to be very valued friends to other who have fewer friends. They usually have a selection of friends who share their love for hobbies and interests. ISTPs don’t usually make bonds to friends, since ISTPs tend to prefer to be with people who share many of their interests which is a also a reason to why they have fewer friends.
They often have a difficult time understanding people with extremely strong iNtuitive or people with (N) instead of (S).

I made this for my very good friend and she have really been the closest I have ever had as a friend. We can share everything, from interests to who we would like to throw down a volcano and see burn to ash. Even though I have strong iNtuitive, we seem to get along.


ISPT as parents

ISTPs are very laid-back people, which affects how they would treat their child(ren), they dislike being controlled, and controlling others. So they would likely keep a distance to their child, letting it grow as it wants, giving them a lot of breathing room and personal space. They tend to be relatively uninvolved with the daily happenings of the family life and except their partner to do the “learning” for the child.

Don’t really know how she would have been as a parent, but I think she would have let her children grow their own interests and hobbies, without “changing” their hobbies. So I think she would have the most loved parent because of her being an ISTP.


ISTP as lovers

ISTPs can be father “hard to get” sometimes, because of being Thinking people. Since they are the “craftsmen” and enjoy fixing things, they may create problems in their relationship, just to have the fun to fix them.
Sexually, ISTPs tend to rather express their love in physical act then words and feelings. They are earthy and sensual beings, who would enthusiastically experience sex with all the five senses. The setting also plays a big role for ISTPs, how everything around them look, colors, lights, smell, sound,  etc.
A natural partner for an ISTP would be a person with either ESTJ or ENTJ.

I won’t say anything here really, I don’t like to say my own opinion on this theme, but I can say, I would “believe”, my friend would been very dominant in one way to her partner.

She is a very caring person to those who are close to her, very caring and nice. I would say she is the closest to a sister I have ever had, she feels closer than my own sister in fact. I’m really happy for that I meet her, if it wasn’t for one picture I was seriously doubting about posting, we would never began to talk. She have really been a good friend to me, even though according to our personalities, that she is ISTP and I’m INTJ, we should been far from friends, enemies in fact. But somehow we have gotten like sisters.
